Traveling Sounds is a mobile chamber music ensemble that reaches out to people's lives with the highest level of classical music. Our mission is to inspire and nurture the human spirit by bringing classical music to communities across America—we believe that the power of music can connect and unite people regardless of their differences. As an abstract art form, classical music can feel unapproachable to many people. Through pre-concert talks, lecture recitals, house concerts, and post performance receptions, Traveling Sounds aims to break down this barrier between audience and performer, uniting, inspiring, and empowering through music, regardless of age and location.
Traveling Sounds will work toward creating more artistic outlets for highly qualified musicians (performers and composers) by locating new concert spaces and bringing new life and energy to the classical music scene of various cities and towns. Traveling Sounds will reach out to local communities across the country, performing in museums, libraries, schools, churches, and theaters—wherever performances can be arranged. With this synergy, we will form partnerships and friendships, and more importantly, raise awareness for classical music.
Traveling Sounds seeks to promote real personal connections and shared experiences by creating and fostering a national network of performing musicians through participation and collaboration with local community institutions and arts organizations.
